Somatic Therapy
ABOUT

what is somatic therapy?
Somatic Therapy bases its approach on the knowledge that trauma and unprocessed emotions lives and gets stored in the body - that the body expresses what the mind suppresses. And to truly create change and healing on a profound level we have to include the body in our journey. Using a “bottom up” approach to therapy we work with the nervous system, the felt sense, the actual experience of our emotions in our bodies to create a deep mind-body connection and become fully embodied in our being.
Sessions takes a talk therapeutic format that supports clients in becoming deeply attuned, resourced and self-led. They focus on gently unwinding learned patterns that no longer serve, safely meeting unprocessed emotions, and alchemise what has been held in the body, heart and mind in order to start living from alignment rather than survival.
Through somatic practices, emotional processing, and parts-based exploration, clients develop the capacity to meet themselves with clarity, compassion and trust.
It is a holistic, non-pathologizing, compassionate and profound approach that works for all kinds of concerns such as trauma, anxiety, relational issues, stuckness, stress, addiction, grief, chronic pain, sexual trauma, ptsd etc.
what is parts work?
Parts work or Internal Family System Therapy (IFS) is a gentle, evidence-based approach that helps you understand and heal your inner world. Rather than viewing behaviours, distress, or negative thoughts as something “wrong” with you, IFS recognises that we all have different parts — inner aspects of ourselves that hold their own emotions, beliefs, and roles developed to help us cope, survive, and stay safe.
Parts work helps you build a respectful, trusting relationship with your inner system so your parts no longer need to work in extreme or exhausting ways, gain greater self understanding and let your true Self lead.
Somatic parts work integrates body awareness into the therapeutic process, recognizing that our parts don’t just show up in our thoughts — they also live in the body. Physical sensations, tension, breath, posture, and movement can all provide valuable information about which parts are present and what they need.
By slowing down and listening to the body, somatic parts work supports healing beyond talk alone. This approach helps regulate the nervous system, allowing protective responses to soften and deeper healing to happen safely and at your own pace.
Somatic parts work is especially supportive for trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and patterns that feel hard to shift.

what is neuroaffective touch?
NeuroAffective Touch Therapy (NATT) is a gentle, body-based approach to healing that supports emotional regulation, attachment repair, and nervous system balance through intentional, therapeutic touch.
It is designed especially for individuals whose early experiences may not have included consistent safety, attunement, or support.
NATT works with the understanding that many emotional and relational patterns are shaped before we have words — and that the body remembers these early experiences. Through slow, attuned touch and mindful presence, this therapy helps the nervous system experience safety, connection, and regulation in a new way.
Sessions are always collaborative and consent-based. Touch is offered only when appropriate and agreed upon, and the client remains fully in control of the process. The goal is not to “fix” or force change, but to allow the body to gradually release protective patterns and develop a greater sense of ease, trust, and stability.
what is shamanic energy medicine?
Shamanic Energy Medicine is a holistic healing approach rooted in ancient Andean and Amazonian wisdom traditions. It is based on the understanding that we are energetic beings, and that our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being are deeply interconnected.
According to this tradition, experiences such as trauma, stress, and loss can leave energetic imprints in the body’s energy field, sometimes called the luminous energy field. Over time, these imprints may contribute to emotional patterns, physical symptoms, or a sense of disconnection from oneself or life.
Shamanic Energy Medicine works to gently clear and transform these imprints, not by reliving the past, but by helping the system release what no longer serves and restore balance.
This work focuses on healing at the energetic and spiritual level, supporting the body and psyche’s natural capacity to reorganize and heal.
This work is often experienced as subtle yet powerful, and can support personal transformation, emotional healing, spiritual growth, and a deeper sense of connection to oneself, others, and the natural world.
